Into the Dark Wood...

Louis Puster

A few months ago I went and saw my friend Kristyn's dance company perform.  At this particular event it was a mix of live dance and short films.  It was a lovely evening of movement both on the stage and on the screen.  I didn't really 'get' every piece I saw, but I enjoyed myself.  One piece in particular really jumped out at me.  It was a tiny fragment of a show that her company is doing in January called "Into the Dark Wood..." Being a fan of things both dark and spooky, the name alone got me interested, but the performance itself was haunting and beautiful.  So, when Kristyn asked me to help her film a trailer for the piece I jumped at the chance.

Both this past weekend and the one before a small crew of us went out to the woods and shot some footage.  As making any film is, it was hard work, but we all had a fun time with it.  As I write this post, I am taking a break from editing the pieces together - so I don't have any of that trailer to show you yet, but you should go to their kickstarter page and check it out.  Donate a few bucks to make someone else's dreams come true - even if you can't make it to Atlanta to watch it.  If you are in Atlanta - come see the show in January.  It promises to be a dark and strange evening.
