Novellas and Editors, oh my!

Author of the Saga of Ukumog discusses the challenges of being an author, the tools and processes he uses while writing, and sometimes posts something completely unrelated. This blog is the author exposed.

Novellas and Editors, oh my!

Louis Puster

In my last post I said that I would post here when Shadow of the Pyramid had a release date. Well, things happened rather quickly and it was launched nearly accidentally. I had intended for the Kindle version of the book to be available the same day, but things did not go according to plan.

So now I am making the post that I said I would, but in the aftermath of the book's availability.

The story is available both in a tiny paperback and on the kindle. Eventually this eBook availability will extend to other services as well, so do not fret if you have the wrong electronic platform.

I would like to say that I am very grateful for the editor that I have currently in my life. Morgan McLaughlin McFarland not only has a super long name, but she is also exactly the kind of editor I need. She doesn't harass me with selfish story changes or ideas, she doesn't belittle me when I make stupid grammatical errors. She makes me feel like she is a fan of my work. A fan who just wants to make the stories better. That makes me feel awesome about the changes I do have to make, or the silly mistakes that I should never have forced her to see.

I don't know how much time she has for editing work, but I would certainly recommend her to anyone else looking for an editor. I warn you: she won't hold back and baby you though. If you get that impression from my previous paragraph, do not be fooled.

So here we are. Two novels and one novella all in the same world. I really can't wait to see what happens next.

Thanks for reading!
